Diversificación de las exportaciones y competitividad externa en la industria. Hacia la construcción de una tipología para el caso de países de ingresos medios

Este artículo analiza la vinculación existente entre la diversificación de las exportaciones y la competitividad externa del sector industrial en países de ingresos medios. Los resultados muestran una relación positiva significativa entre el grado de diversificación y el desempeño comercial y vinculaciones menos representativas con respecto a la competitividad dinámica. La diversificación promueve la competitividad mediante mejoras en la balanza comercial; sin embargo, no existe evidencia de que una estrategia de diversificación de las exportaciones pueda incrementar las cuotas de mercado de los países de ingresos medios en el caso de las ramas industriales cuya demanda crece en el ámbito global.
