This paper studies the determinants of the implementation of Foreign Banking in Spain, distinguishing the chosen installation form, Subsidiaries and / or Branches, and the crisis’s effect, during the period 2000 to 2015. The data is analyzed using Panel Data. The results indicate that the variables related to the degree of integration between countries are the most determining. The size of the financial market of the country of origin is correlated with the Subsidiaries and the search for profitability and the distance with the Branches. The economic crisis is not decisive for the Subsidiaries but for the Branches.
